Usernames and Passowrds

Before embarking on this ICT pathway the best advice I could have been given is to record your different usernames and passwords for the copious amounts of internet things you need them for....or have the same one for everything. But I wasn't given this advice and now everytime I need to 'log on' or 'sign in' I take a wild guess as to what email address or username and password I have used. Now I hear you all saying...."the more you use it the easier it will become". By the time anyone reads this blog they will already have multiple usernames and passwords!! Good luck!

imovie

I dragged a heap of photos into imovie and played about with cropping, adding text, transitions and music from my itunes. Then shared to a quicktime. So so easy. But can't put it on facebook because of the copyright on the music.

quietube.com is a site that cuts out and hides all the background ads and junk on Youtube. Open quietube.com and click on the bookmarklet





and drag it to your bookmark bar. Then when you are on youtube you click on 'quietube' in your bookmark bar and the ads around the youtube video disapear. Cool!!!

Ideas for grouping students

Doughnut
Two circles of people with one circle inside the other circle. After talking with each other for a set time the outer circle moves in a clockwise direction. They can move one or two people (what ever is specified) and then talk/discuss again.

Spinning Wheel
People in groups of three spaced around the room. After talking and sharing with each other for a set time one person moves clockwise, one person moves anticlockwise and one person remains. Then people talk/discuss again and move again.

Use Your Mobile Phone to Connect to Facebook

WOW!!! So cool. I used my mobile to connect to Facebook and was able to read my messages from the warmth of my car while waiting for the rain to stop. "I am sooooo clever!" (well I think I am anyway)

Eastnet Cluster Conference

What a great experience presenting and sharing some ideas about Kidpix with other teachers. Thanks to a wonderful colleague for putting together a great presentation using Notebook on the Smartboard. It was exciting listening to teachers squeal with delight when they discover something new (including Photobooth). Unfortunately we didn't get everything covered but I know they all gained some new learning that they can use in their classrooms immediately.

I'm trying again to upload a video. I think I have succeeded this time. However it does take a while for the movie to 'process'.

Adding a Q/Time movie

I'm just seeing if I can add a movie to my blog. It's nothing worthy of looking at - just my cat playing with an ice cube.

Well that was a waste of time. 25 minutes later and the video was still "uploading" so I cancelled it.

My Class Blog

I can't believe I said the words "I want to set up a blog for my class". One small step at a time. I will be getting some expert help from a very dedicated colleague who is very patient with my small steps.

So watch this space.

Eastnet Lead Teacher PD Day

Oh boy!!! Information overload, however I think it's important to learn one thing well and store all the other stuff for a later date. My brain gets too full of usernames and passwords.....arghhhhh!!!

If you would have asked me what Web2.0 was last week I would have avoided the question, even though it is a terminology that I have heard of many times. Well now....ask me again? I currently use a Web2.0 tool everyday in the form of Facebook (a wonderful way to communicate with my daughter overseas). I also have a blog page and wiki which are all Web2.0 tools. WOW! I'm using Web2.0 and I didn't even know it. Now that I know they are web tools that have a social collaborative context. Today I also established a Wallwisher site (another Web2.0 tool)

Now can you see why I have username and password overload????????
